Longer Opening Times For Poole's Tip
From this April it will be even easier for residents to drop off their waste and recyclables as Poole's Household Waste Recycling Centre or ‘tip’ will be open for longer hours during the summer months.
Located in Nuffield Road, Poole, the ‘tip’ will be open Thursday - Tuesday 8.30am to 6pm and Wednesdays 8.30am to 7pm. The new opening hours will run from 1 April until 30 September.
On Wednesdays there will be specific arrangements for larger vans (over 2.1m in height) with household waste to visit the site, but they will not be given entry on any other days.
Councillor Xena Dion, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for a Prosperous and Sustainable Poole, Borough of Poole, said: "We are very proud of our new household waste recycling centre which opened in 2012 and believe we provide a very high quality service to residents after several improvements over the past few years. Providing longer opening hours during the summer shows we are listening to people’s wishes to be able to visit the site whilst the evenings are lighter."
"The staff at the site are extremely helpful and anyone who needs assistance of any sort or advice about ‘what goes where’ just has to ask. People will need, though, to show proof that they reside within the Borough of Poole at the point of entry."
Poole’s ‘tip' is open every day except Christmas, Boxing and New Year’s Day. Further information can be found at boroughofpoole.com/nuffield.
