Local residents and visitors alike will benefit from an extended summer service on a popular bus route to Rockley Park.
Route 152 provides a bus service between Rockley Park and Poole bus station, stopping at Lower Hamworthy on the way. From Sunday 27 July this route will be boosted with a Sunday and Bank Holiday service throughout the school summer holidays.
As well as being a popular service for visitors to Poole's much-loved holiday park, the route operates close to Hamworthy Park and Harbour Reach, providing local residents with a convenient half-hourly bus service to the town centre. The normal 152 route will be changed during the summer to follow most of the route of the Route ONE bus for easy and convenient access to Poole Quay, Poole Park, and Poole Hospital.
Councillor Ian Potter, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Transportation: “This new Sunday service meets long-standing requests from passengers for a Sunday timetable on the 152 service and on Route ONE. We are sure it will be a big hit with local people and visitors who want to explore the town centre and Poole's popular local attractions. It will also give an added boost to the local economy and enhance Poole's tourism offer at the height of the summer season."
Nikki Honer, Communications Manager for morebus: "Many holiday makers and residents alike will benefit from this additional service and with our day tickets being valid on 152 this will offer new connections for customers."
The new route starts on Sunday 27 July and will operate every Sunday until 31 August. It will also operate on Bank Holiday Monday 25 August. The service will be operated by Damory. For full details, go to www.morebus.co.uk or telephone 0871 200 22 33.
