The Borough of Poole, Poole Housing Partnership, and the Homes & Communities Agency together are building new extra care apartments in Rossmore Road. The 54 apartments in the Trinidad Village block are scheduled to welcome their first residents next summer.
The three Conservative Councillors for Newtown ward — Graham Wilson, Lindsay Wilson, and Malcolm Farrell — visited the site to check on progress. The block will feature a central courtyard with seating areas, landscaped gardens and terraces, and even a restaurant and hairdressing salon.
Cllr Graham Wilson: "It's great to see work continuing to move on at the site. The development will not only provide housing for some of our vulnerable residents, but also facilities that everyone in the local community can enjoy. It’s positive for residents of both Trinidad House and the local area to see the building grow, and we look forward to seeing things develop further over the coming months."
PHP is looking for people to provide catering and hairdressing in the new building. The restaurant will serve not only the 54 extra care apartments but also 90 sheltered housing properties and the wider community, as well as offering a meal delivery service locally. The hairdresser will also serve the wider community.
